Overview
This page lists every category of cookie or browser-storage mechanism that Simple Moving Abroad uses. Cookies that are not strictly necessary are only set after you have given consent through the consent banner shown to EU/EEA visitors.
Strictly necessary
These keep the site working. They do not require consent under ePrivacy / GDPR.
- Session-level CSRF / framework cookies set by Next.js / Vercel when needed for routing or security. They contain no personal information beyond a short-lived random identifier.
Local storage
We also use localStorage in your browser to remember small UI preferences — for example, the last unit category you used. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.
Analytics
Vercel Web Analytics measures aggregate page-view counts. It is cookieless and privacy-friendly — no cookie is set on your device, no cross-site identifier is stored, and the IP address used to derive a rotating daily hash is not retained. Because nothing is stored on your device, no consent is required.
Advertising
Google AdSense serves the ads that fund the site. AdSense may set cookies (e.g. __gads, NID, IDE) on your device to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and (subject to your consent) personalise the ads you see. EU/EEA users are presented with a Google Transparency & Consent Framework choice on first visit; AdSense respects that choice on subsequent visits.
You can manage personalised-ad settings at any time at adssettings.google.com, and you can withdraw consent through the same banner you originally responded to.
How to disable cookies
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings. Disabling cookies that we classify as strictly necessary may prevent parts of the site from working. Disabling advertising cookies will not stop you from seeing ads, but the ads you see will be non-personalised.
