How Simple Moving Abroad handles your personal data, what we collect, who we share it with, and what rights you have under GDPR.
Who we are
Simple Moving Abroad (simple-moving-abroad.com) is operated by Simple Products. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swedish Data Protection Act (Dataskyddslagen).
What we collect
Simple Moving Abroad runs entirely in your browser. We do not capture your IP address at the application layer, and every conversion or computation happens on your device.
In addition, every visit produces standard request metadata that any website on the modern internet sees: your IP address, user-agent, referrer, and the URL you requested. We rely on three providers to receive and process this metadata, described below.
Legal basis
Our legal basis under GDPR Article 6 is:
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for delivering the service, preventing abuse, and aggregate analytics — none of which require identifying you.
- Consent(Art. 6(1)(a)) for personalised advertising. EU/EEA visitors are presented with a consent choice through Google’s Transparency & Consent Framework before any personalised-ad cookie is set.
Third parties (sub-processors)
We share request metadata with the following providers strictly to operate the service:
- Vercel Inc. — hosting and edge delivery. Vercel logs request metadata (IP, user-agent, timestamps) for security and operational purposes. Vercel Privacy Policy.
- Vercel Web Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics. Pageviews are recorded with IP-derived hashes that are rotated daily; no individual user is tracked across days.
- Google LLC (AdSense) — displays advertising on the site. AdSense may set cookies and use your IP/user-agent to serve and measure ads. EU users are asked for consent first. Google Privacy Policy.
Data retention
We do not maintain user accounts or our own logs. Request metadata held by our sub-processors is retained according to their published policies — typically 30 to 90 days for hosting logs and longer (with anonymisation) for ad-measurement aggregates.
Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16);
- have your data deleted (“right to be forgotten”, Art. 17);
- restrict or object to processing (Arts. 18 & 21);
- portability of data you provided (Art. 20);
- withdraw any consent you previously gave, at any time, without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. Because we do not maintain user accounts, the practical scope of an “access” or “deletion” request is limited to data held by the sub-processors above, which you can also contact directly.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, imy.se) or the supervisory authority in your EU country of residence.
Children
Simple Moving Abroad is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Some of our sub-processors (notably Google) operate infrastructure outside the EU/EEA. Where personal data leaves the EEA, transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, as documented in each provider’s data-processing addendum.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For substantive changes that affect your rights we will additionally surface a notice on the home page for at least 14 days.
